Counselling and Academic Advising

SARCA Services

This French acronym stands for Service d’Accueil, de Référence, de Conseil et d’Accompagnement. This broad service practically translates to Welcome, Reference, Counsel and Accompaniment. All counsellors across the Quebec school boards are providers of SARCA.

We provide you with guidance and support to help you discover your personal learning path. We have all the resources on site to help you succeed and our trained and caring staff are happy to answer all your questions. Our goal is to help you develop an educational plan of action and then provide you with all the support needed along the way. SARCA is a free service available to all adults (students and non students alike).

The program is designed to provide help to the following groups of people

  • Individuals without a first diploma (DES or DEP)
    • especially if they are under 30 years of age
  • Disabled persons
  • Immigrants
  • Members of Native communities

Personal and Academic Counselling

Our Boards provide a range of professionals that will offer a variety of counselling and support services. Our counsellors help students identify their needs, develop strategies that better deal with their personal challenges, and provide guidance throughout the learning process. They do not offer psychotherapy, but rather provide supportive interventions.
